Thats a lot of rock to be mixing in with your 150lbs, if it was only 40 or 50 I'd say go for it but....

like Laurie said, there is about 100lbs of rock in the 260 atm....all readings were at 0 a week after the rock went in (Ive had this rock sitting in bins waiting for at the very least 2 months (longer for some of it)....the 110g has about 150lbs of rock between the display and sump....this is the rock that Im worried about....I have the means to move all of it with water covering the majority of the rock (I have 10 rubbermaid bins and three cooler that are dedicated for the aquarium) the prodibio start claims that you can add rock from the LFS and fish in the same day and have pretty much no cycle....its a three part procedure that involves a bacteria, food for the bacteria and an ammonia neutralizing product....Im just still nervous about putting my faith in the product....after all these are my babies Im dealing with

would have been a nice scenario, but that is a lot to ask of someone ya know....its like, heres a 100 gallon tank with thirteen fish for you to take care of for me

thanks for the offer mang but the other thing that I worry about with the "keeping the fish at RCE" scenario, is the simple fact that I will then have to move the fish and stress them out twice.....I hate putting a net to a fish....I think we vastly underestimate the stress we put on our fish when we chases it around a tank and net and move it.....game fish are known to die after release from lactic acid build up and I would assume that our aquarium fish experience the same thing....some fish simply will die from the stress of being moved.....so keeping them anywhere else but the 260 is gonna force me to move them twice......

as long as the rock is in water it shouldnt die off too much.....is the time spent in the air that does it in....

Lauries tanks are what you might call, "moderately stocked"

I actually have less fish then then other people keep in the same size tanks, however I do have fairly large fish which take up space. I have 13 fish in my 230g reef (5 of which are large), 6 fish in my 230g fowlr (2 of which are large and fairly mean), and 8 (small to med. size) fish in my 80g.
