I won't get bored with fish, corals, and inverts. I'm pretty sure when he says "when we get bored" he means when he gets bored.

He just sent me the first background that he wants to use, so I can plot it up and send it out to get laminated.

I am not thrilled about this, but I'll do it for him. I may need to change the position of the fish for him: as the overflow box is going in the middle.

And you're adding rock to this tank?

Honestly, I think you'll not be happy with this. It will take away from the natural look of the tank, and unless you're doing a 10k ft deep tank theme, not even applicable to a reef.
Maybe get that made up in a sticker and he can put it on his car...

I am trying to remain optimistic. At least it isn't Sponge Bob?

I will be adding rock to this tank . . . perhaps more than I originally planned. I think I can mostly hide the "Anime Nasty" (direct quote from hubby) behind a pile of rock and corals. At least the bulk of the background is black. I can always arrange some sort of accident that destroys the background. But, I will humour him for the time being . . . it certainly will not be permanent.

It also occurred to me that my daisy polyps might grow on the back glass. Maybe coralline will take over the rear glass? I'm sure something will grow on it eventually. If I'm lucky?

This is what happened to the 10 gallon display while it was cycling:

He and our three-year-old love it. I tolerated that for about two weeks.

I may have to do up a tacky FW tank (complete with pirate-ship bubbler) for the boys (in the basement).

ah I feel for ya..
The wife wanted a sponge bob pineapple house in the SW tank. I said no, you can have any coral you want, but not that.

He said (after I moved the angler to avoid the overflow):

Quote:
Perfect...

Pop Grayson in bathing suit on left, bobbing around.
"Grayson" is our three-year-old.

I said:

No!
He said:

Lol. Ok. You're done. Looks perfect.
At least I put my foot down with regards to something?

Oh! And, I get my Neptune Apex this weekend . . . and he didn't ask what it cost. I win.

Just like in child rearing, the battles need to be chosen wisely.

Hubby often wanders around muttering "Happy wife . . . Happy life."

Remind him of this when you put your foot down and tell him the background will now be a solid color
