I have 7000 ish gph in my 120

Wow that seems like a lot.
I thnk a mag 7 is 2600 gph + 2x1050 + 800= roughly 4500 gph total so far.

Mag 7 as in this one is only 700 GPH. Is that the pump you were thinking of ?

My 120 is using quiet one 4000 high head for return, and 2vortech mp40s

120 , lps. 2xKessil A350W Tuna Blues, 2xvortech mp40 for flow,aqualogic 1/4 hp chiller, 160 lbs live rock. sohal, , pair of percs,flame dotty back , royal gramma, pair of black percs, niger trigger, mandarin

55 corner bowfront freshwater, African cichlids kessil a350

30 gal 36x36 coffee table fish tank. 3 red ear sliders.

5.5 gal nano, live rock, arrow crab, baby perc, firefish.

Wow, so that's roughly 10k gph flow?

Im seeing there's lots of variation in what people use, I'll have to find a sweet spot between 6k and 10k depending on rock work and coral placement.

thats gonna depend on what you plan on keeping as far as corals go....and if you want your sand, if your running it, to stay put........ a good general rule is....softies and LPS, between 20- 40 times the tank volume and if you get into SPS higher then that.....I have about 10000 gph of turnover in my 110g....just an FYI, the magnum koralias are the size of a football....if its within your budget, look at a vortech MP40 of one of the bigger tunzes

I have a 120g and I have roughly 6500GPH in mine. Its a mixed reef with SPS and soft corals.

I'm not sure I can handle a 500 dollar pump, a football I can deal with
I'd probably try and hide it behind a rock.
Ill be starting with LPS only, and moving later on to some SPS.
