You Islanders have all the fun!

Christy, where did you get your Cali tort from. The structure almost looks more like an Oregon. I don't want to start a riot but.... no wait, maybe I do

I can't remember who I got it from, I'm thinking Snappy. I was under the impression that the oregon tort was a more vibrant blue, like this:

And the cali tort was more muted. But I dunno. Both of them came with "labels" so I just assumed thats what they were.

Hmm, you know, I have another one that could be the cali tort. The one I have labelled the cali tort could be the Purple Cross. I'll go get a pic of what i thought was the purple cross.

The Oregon Tort is all blue with no green. Hard to tell from a picture, in person there is no comparison. The structure is heavier and smoother than the Cali, I almost thought it looked more like a Turaki.

I can see now that I've mis-labelled them. Sorry guys, I'll get a mod to edit that

This is the "cali tort" (or what was sold to me as a cali tort) and its not for sale.

What was sold to me as the oregon is about that, but I dunno. It is one of the most vibrant solid blue corals I've ever seen. And grows kind of odd, its mostly smooth on the top and the corallites are spaced out on the underside. A very slow grower for me as well.

Send me piece to inspect, and I'll let you know what I think

Yes, it's called "purple acro with the pinky looking polyps".

I'm of the school that thinks naming corals is silly
