The Oilers is using Dubnyk more and more and I don't think Khabibulin fits into the Oilers' future plan. I am sure some teams would love to get a goaltender of his calibre for their playoff push (Toronto for example) or as an insurance to their playoff drive (Pitt or NYR let's say). It won't cost them an arm and a leg and the Oilers can get something back in return (a draft pick or prospect). That's one move. I can give you a couple more if you like.

Rebuilding since 2007? No. The rebuild started when they took Hall #1 in 2010. We're only in year 2. Just like Subman said, Habby's contract is way too much. If he was in his last year, possibly. Plus he's coming off an injury, he's too old and hasn't been playing very good as of late. Trade him away and who's going to back up Dubnyk?
