![]() Hey all !! I have been doing more research and want to know if anyone knows it has made thwir own protien skimmer I have seen a bunch of vids on how to make a decent nano skimmet for pennies.

![]() There are a lot of diy videos out there for anything you need, a little advice before starting find out your costing for all your DIY parts and compare with ready store bought product.
I think the over flow pipes is a great idea for someone not needing to drill.(I think I will building one for one of my tanks) A DIY skimmer sure is due-able but I don't think for pennies. Diy rocks, after all the work, tools and equipment needed it sure is cheaper to get dry rocks and seed it with a couple lbs of live rock and voila ready for your tank. |

I'm fascinated by 'mame' glass nano skimmers from Japan. They're a cocurrent design so not the most efficient, but they sure are purty. ![]() Thanks for letting me know, I have been to red coral and am quite impressed with their product. I am always looking for more insight and ideas on how to create my own sump and larger refugium, if anyone has any builds or setups that have worked for you please let me know. Thanks all
