I love the vortechs and don't have much experience with the higher end Tunze models. I think for a tank my size the vortechs are the best bet as they take up minimal real estate. If I did a larger tank 400+ gallons I think that I would have a combination of both. Vortechs on the side walls and then some Tunzes on the back on a rotating device. After having this tank setup for awhile I really wish I had gone for an external overflow. I would never do a tank with an internal overflow again especially a center overflow. They just create water flow problems and require you to have too many powerheads. Lesson learned. But hey, it gives me a reason to upgrade some time ![]() |
