The pin wheel impeller will double the air input to my skimmer. I don't think I could just take one of these pump and hook it directly to my skimmer without doing some mods.

Mods are not more then pieces of pvc pipe.
They do sell the pieces for most Octopus skimmers. Just find one u can play with. Or buy my skimmer when im done with it.

Wife will not let me buy another skimmer. When I bought this one I told her it would be good enough for the new tank. And I must say it kick a$$.
