My cheap alternitive to that is just buy a bulk. Pack. Of aquaclear hob filter foam, cut ahole in it for the powerhead intake, and let. It clean away. Rinse and reset as needed. I have no other mechanical filtration on my tank so. I have used this for the occasional whoops..
