This is rad nice looking build. But now I'm wondering if I can have one in my frag tank what a cute bastard! He looks like he's just sorta floating on the macro in those pics lol.

So jealous of that pipe cutter! I hate using the hacksaw and then tracking those plastic bits all over the room (and house if you don't brush socks off etc). I can't believe that thing can simply slice thru it?!

I stopped using my hand pipe cutters after getting addicted to using the chopsaw for pipes. Cleanest cuts EVAH! ..... Not so clean on the floor however. The explosion of PVC sawdust however does make for some amusing moments when your spouse discovers WTH you're doing with the chopsaw. On an unrelated note my hobbies are still permanently banished to the basement.

I don't see why you couldn't put one in a frag tank, they are really cool to watch. He was sort of floating on the macro, he grabs onto it with his hands and moves around on it. Very cool to watch, only one time the macro started floating into to power head so I started to move it over (not realizing he was holding onto it at the time) and needless to say he went for a ride didn't realize what a grip they can have.

The pipe cutter is the best thing ever! Slices clean though fairly easily with the push of a button, is battery powered and leaves no mess behind. We were going to use a hacksaw but thankfully we got some plumbing parts from steve at red coral and he let us borrow it

What's your plan for this tank Laurie? It's looking great so far. I am looking to get a small tank to house some corals but haven't had the time to do so yet.
I think I should give my wife more hints on birthday present(s). She is not as cool as Doug is

Haha I can just imagine what a chopsaw would do to pipe! And unlike sawdust you'd have a lot of static charge on that dust too I think?

Eventually it will become an upgrade tank for my frogfish. For now I'm getting it ready to house Doug's little gobies and inverts etc. so he can move the contents of his 30g tank into it (might sneak a pipefish in there too) This way he can take his time and he wont have to move his 30g and 110g all at once.

ya that pipe shear was the shizzzz.....no mess, no walking to the chop saw.....cordless......made plumbing the tank wayyyyy less time consuming.....I would have had the thing plumbed in record time if I didnt forget to plumb in the gate valve for the herbie and have to run to the Rona for another fitting to fix my boo boo

Ah well, just as well, you can't do a plumbing project without at least one back to the store to get another fitting. I think it might cause the world to end or something. If you ever complete a plumbing project on the first pass and suddenly see flying horsemen ... quickly cut the pipe and claim it's the wrong size and go back to the store for the sake of us ALL.
