![]() I think you will be on the hook for both taxes and possibly duty if it was made outside the US.
My understanding is that anything above $75 (your daily limit to bring back) is taxable. Also on things that are made outside the US, you are responsible to pay Duty as well. Just my 2 cents. |

![]() I heard the limit is 500$, I bought a light fixture for $160, and I showed the receipt to the border officer and he said OK.I did not pay a cent tax or duty.
if we ask them to send us separate bills ,it should be OK. |
