Ska's 28 Macro Algae Display

Thank you for your kind words. Two of my collegues have passed this week as well and a third is in critical condition. One passed from brain cancer. She found out about it and passed in less than a week. The other two were from a car accident. One died at the scene and the other is in Vancouver hospital in critical condition. Just horrible.

On a slightly brighter note, I found and caught the crab that was in my tank. After some research I believe it to be a spider decorator crab. He definitely 'decorated' himself pretty well. He actually creeps me out so Im going to see if the lfs wants him. I am no on the lookout for my pep shrimp I recently purchased. I havent seen him in a few days so im hoping hes just hiding and the crab didnt get him. We shall see.

Yikes, my condolences. I can't even imagine having to have that many deaths so close to home. Peppermints often hide (well), I have 2 and rarely see them but they are there.

You have created a good environment for keeping pipe fish if you'll like give a try. For curious, what type of algae at the uppermost of the tank at left hand corner and middle is that sargassum?

well, you have certainly mastered the macro display! looks great.

Upper left, are you talking of the red macro? If so thats common red halymenia, not the pretty orange tipped dragons tongue, although I do have that too. If your talking about whats floating and is orange/brown/yellow then thats sargassum.

I actually really want to try pipefish or seahorses but the cost is not to my liking and I dont feed live foods, just a variety of pellets and coral foods.

And thank you. It certainly has become a macro tank. I love it. My family comes to see it and they say its beautiful and think its all corals lol. I tell them no its algae and they respond, isint algae bad?
