Sorry if this doesnt really answer your question. However, if you are open to alternatives, I found that the colored urchin is a great alternative to a sea hare. I too was looking for a seahare to see if it can eat 3 types of algae (hair, bryopsis, and turf). After buying one, I found it would eat only the hair algae (ignoring the other 2). Also it would constantly get stuck to filter intakes. I decided to try urchins (colored and tuxedo) a few weeks ago. While the tuxedo has a preference for coraline algae, my colored urchins have now eaten almost all of the hair algae and bryopsis and in addition, they have never gotten stuck in any intakes. Between the sea hare and colored urchin, I was happier with the colored urchin (cheaper too).
