Its all about ppm
Lets say you flush 50 gal a week. Thats nothing for the lake. Besides, its constantly slowly flowing to the sea and being replenished by rain is it not? Dilution. 3/4 of my pail goes down the storm drain and the bottom 1/4 with debris, goes on the lawn
