Actually you are incorrect... In 2007 Family Day in alberta was declared/recognized a statutory holiday. So this is actually a paid holiday in Alberta, can't say for the other provinces though. So if you are a fed in Alberta, technically you are entitled to the day off with pay.

actually I'm not. Since being in the Federal Public Service, I'm Federally Regulated under the CLC.

Enough of family day... it's a weak reason for a holiday at best. What eats at me about Remembrance Day is the fact that it's not a statutory for everyone coast to coast. That should change.

OH FOR SURE!!! Totally agree with this point, more and more it seems to me that people are forgetting what Rememberance Day is all about.

I guess it will all depend who you work for, in most cases, the employee will be entitled to the day. I have found many employers don't recognize many days that should be recognized. A very good example is one employer I had would not give Rememberance Day... Now that being said, I was entitled, and finally proved it to them. I guess the problem is many employers don't know, and many employees don't either.

Now back to the thread topic... Has your frags arrived yet?

Nope, a couple of pages back there I mentioned that they wouldn't be coming until next Monday. Got lost in the holiday shuffle, I guess!
