![]() I use the flowstar in my tank (5' head, 3/4" return) and can't hear it over the BKmini180 in my sump. By itself I can barely hear it with the doors off the stand. It runs a manifold (2 phosban reactors) and I still have to throttle it back.

![]() Why not go for a Mag18 or lower model if less flow is needed.
I personally use a Mag18, and I can't hear it. I have to put my ear right to the sump glass to slightly hear a very low hum. I would say it is whisper quiet for me. Great pump for the price.
