![]() right..except that dizzy spell and nausea is not an allergic reaction, unless you eat the stuff of course. Sneezing, coughing, swelling, skin eruption, eye irritation, runny nose...those are allergic reactions.
Latex allergy: "Allergy to latex comes in two different forms. One form is called a "delayed hypersensitivity" which is usually seen as a skin rash at the site where the latex product contacts the skin. This rash can be quite severe. A more dangerous form of latex allergy is an "immediate reaction" to latex. This is also referred to as anaphylaxis. Anaphylaxis can result in seriously low blood pressure, breathing difficulty, and even death. Some patients can experience irritation of the nasal passages similar to hay fever (allergic rhinitis)." I hope you know that this is not an anaphylaxis shock... with any type of allergy there should be at least some allergic reaction. skin rash, breathing problem, irritation etc.. |

![]() Thank you all for your comments. Got cat-scan result today - all OK. Still feel dizzy (damn it). Daniella, I did have the problem of the cristals moving within the inner canals in my ears and had that treated right away with the Epley Manoeuver (not so much fun but works great). That took care of the positional vertigo like you had. This is an additional problem according to the physio. She did mention it could be viral as well. This is been months now and I just find it strange that everytime I clean my tank (even with all arms-covered-gloves) I feel like hell the next day. I'm just desperately trying to pinpoint the cause of this flipping thing but I remain positive. I'm not prepared to give up anything - especially my reef tank - I've invested too much passion in this - just want to go forward and get to the bottom of this... I WILL!!!!!

![]() Maybe that's because every time you clean your tank you lower your head and move it in all sort of unusual positions? Could that be it?
What ever it is, I very much doubt it's allergic in nature, probably just side effect of the particles in your inner ear. I still have some dizzy spell from time to time and it's been 3 years since that vertigo attack! It come especialy when I do some wierd head position or when I blow my nose too hard. I would enjoy the tank and forget about allergy to salt water. Just do a little test if you wish. Take some water from your tank and put your hand in it but do not lower your head and rest as normal. See if you still get the dizzy spell if you only put your hand in the water without lowering your head. Quote:
