Now that's a nice wide overflow me likey. Did you explain the overflow lookingish area in the sump somewhere? Obviously your tank drains into the 2 socks so I'm curious what that angled bit of fancy (even with it's own small hole drilled in the side) is all about.

I was wondering the same thing. And yes, that overflow is much better. The first example made me nervous.

Its a tray for running stuff like carbon, etc. The water goes up from the bottom, through the media, and then overflows into the compartment before returning on its way to the tank.
