Can you post some close up pictures of the blue squamosa's for the out of towners who can't come and visit and see personally? I'd love to come but, ah, I can't.

Usually what's billed as a blue squamosa is in fact a maxima, but that's not to say that there's aren't squamosa's WITH blue, or a sort of bluish tint to the patterning. I'm always interested to see, one way or the other, so if someone could post top-downs of these (either in store in their new homes), that'd be awesome, please and thank you!

Tony, all the blue Squamosas are sold already! I asked Ken for some closer photos too (regardless that they are sold). Blue Squammies are indeed hard to come by!

Are the blues actually squamosas?
A couple of stores here got just about the same shipment (judging from the pictures) but I'm such a clam newbie I don't know the difference between kinds. I am picking up a couple this coming weekend, letting them settle a bit from shipping first before they get moved again.

They look like Squamosas to me, but it's hard to say from the picture being so far away. Would be easiest to tell by seeing the bysal opening.

Squammies have really small bysal openings right?

This is the best I can do for you guys... kinda cliche these days, but sorry about the quality... phone pic! lol

BTW... whatever it is, it's easily my favorite clam so far. And for what it's worht, it looks exactly the same (shell and mantle) as the other clam that I have that I was told was a Squamosa... and it looks nothing like my Maxima. That said, please confirmn... I'd like to know!
