Default is there really a " sanda clause " ?

i have a substantial amount of aragonite live sand ,that was once a thriving mecca in a previous reef aquarium. the sand has been left out side in the rain for appx 3 months i would like to add this to my sump. What should i do to make it safe? . Has been quite saturated with rain water.

Don't remember the chemical composition in rain or acid rain, but whatever it is, it'll probably be absorbed by the substrate and then released into your tank. Probably not worth the risk.

I agree. I wouldn't use the sand. Better safe than sorry.

If it was rain water in the city, no way! If it was in the middle of a farmers field somwhere not anywhere near industrial plants in anyway, I might!

I'd rinse the sand really well and use it without a second thought. JMO.

I'm sure the sand will be fine if you rinse it. It came from outside in the first place.
