Default lighting for 24" depth

Im thinking of upgrading my tank to a 120...48x24x24 and need some advice on ligthing choices?should i go with t5ho or mh?would be mostly soft corals and fish..

6 bulb T5HO should do the trick for you if you buy a decent quality fixture like a Tek. You will be able to keep many LPS with that fixture too, and quite a few SPS even if you wanted to. Of course lighting is only one piece in the puzzle of coral keeping. If you can't provide pristine water conditions, stable water conditions, and optimal flow then you may want a more powerful fixture to help pick up the slack.

You won't get the shimmer in the water with T5s like you do with halides though. So if you really like that look consider halides.
