Well in hindsight I might actually be happy enough with things the way they are after all. The trick was dialing back the sump return to account for the flow diverted into the frag tank once that is online and that lowered the water level just enough.

In a phantom message, someone mentioned (or maybe it was just one of the voices in my head, which would explain why I can't find it now, but it sure sounded like Brett ) that I should post the link of the video in here.

Just so that the voices in my head don't get too angry with me, I'm posting the link here too now:

watched the video, and I think that wave is great, and the wave boxes are not that bad so I tend to agree with you Tony, just leave it.

the wave looks good Tony! I'd stay with what you got for now...eventually if you want to upgrade/switch out you can....having said that...the MP40 on my tank kicks the crap out of any other powerhead I've ever owned.

That's the beauty of waveboxes though. They aren't the same as even the vortechs. I don't think the vortechs (even tho they can create waves) shift the entire water column like a wavebox.

hmmmm, I am not sure about that, you should see the wave I can produce if I want, and seeing the undertows created and crap that comes out of rock. Problem is that I don't like putting that type of stress on the tank, big wave back and forth that is.

But those wavebox's tony have are doing a good job though, so why spend more money if it is working. I wouldn't!
