Yep, I would call that worm large. Here is what happens when you unknowingly pet one!



If you do pet one, get some Duct tape (stuff fixes everything!) and gently set the tape on the bristles, and lift. It will pull most if not all of the bristles. Avoiding that itchy, burning, feeling your left with normally while your body deals with the broken bristles left behind.

I am pretty sure that it is one of the bad bristle worms. I had some of those in my tank and they killed a medium sized turbo snail. I think it is a hermodice carunculata you can look it up on this site www.chucksaddiction.com/hitchworms.html

Thanks for the heads up Jon I did that this weekend and didn't have any duck tape so I used hockey tape. I need to get gloves
