			 Hello all,

I'm setting up a 40 gallon reef that will be mostly LPS and softies with maybe one or two SPS species. Any suggestions for a skimmer? I'm looking at the Coralife Super Skimmer (65g) cause I can get a new one for pretty cheap. Any thoughts or anyone looking to get rid of a skimmer that would work for me? |

I can't suggest a good one however I can suggest one not to buy,

Red Sea Prizm <=== not the best skimmer. I got mine for relatively little so it wasn't a big loss but I think I should have paid a bit more and opted for a Remora skimmer instead. You'll frequently find in this hobby that it pays to spend more. |

I have a hand-me-down Red Sea Prizm skimmer and am using it mostly for additional water circulation while my water clears up from fresh, live sand haha. They suck for anything more than a 20 gallon fish-only tank.

I can assure you the suck-age factor only increases on my 55 gallon.

Then one of the deltec hang-ons would be your best bet. Probably the MCE300 for that size of tank.
