I don't intend to hijack this thread, but Beverly, I have found that GSP's like a lot of light. Mine are under 2x96W PC's at a depth of about 12", and are fine. Kari's are under MH, and growng like mad. They are sometimes finicky. I babysat a friend's GSP's because they would not open at his place. It took almost a month here before they opened.

Bob,

I will keep your comments in mind with my star polyps, which are brown. They have been in the same tank for the last month, but when I re-aquascaped it earlier this week and moved the polyps higher in the tank, they stopped opening. The problem could also have been caused by all the moving around.
