Weird that all the worms would stay on the underside though, even now. Is this the best point of entry?? Wouldn't they eat the whole thing?

Remember, most of the shrimp is covered by the carapace (or shell if you will), The worms would have no access, but the abdomen is usually soft, and not fully protected. Hence the worms used the most available point of entry.
