what is this?
well we are on day 10 of our cycle and i noticed my first real growth. It just appeared over night.
what is it? good or bad?

Aptaisa, bad, get it out. If you search the forums, there is alot of info on how to get rid of them.

looks like the rock it is in is still bare. Take the whole rock out and a syringe and spray boiling water all over the critter. Do as little damage to the rock as possible but make sure you get the whole apastia out.

get a hypo from the drug store and inject the aptasia with lemon juice

if there is one it most likely will have company so keep a close watch out for more.

it definetly had company, i found another small browish colored one, both were destroyed via syring and boiling water. i dug out any remaing and sprayed again!!
damn things. Do these pop up all the time or only under certain conditions?

I think lower nutrient will reduce the growth and spread. once they are in your system, it is very hard to get rid of them. However, if you destroy them early, you may have a chance to win the battle.

it was only in the tank for a total of 12 hours as i have been checking for growth on rocks quite frequently.
