Default Great

Yea things have a right to live. Ok... well if it kills a $50 fish who is gonna cry? Not the crab. I lost a couple fish to a red eye crab then he got the axe.

I wonder... does anyone care enough to read signatures if you make them really small? I would not. I would probably moan and complain, read three words and swear once or twice. But since you made it this far, please rate my builds.

Looks like a mithrax to me, but can't be absolutely sure until I see the cups on the end of the pincers. I have at least two good sized mithrax in my 77 and they've been great scavengers... without bothering any of my other 'desireable' critters. I have no plans on catching them until I've seen some damage and there hasn't been any since I bought my system used. I assume they were hitchhikers as well. I've seen them scrape algae, coralline off the rocks and glass. Generally quite wary and are spooked fairly easily by anything approaching them.

Are the tips of its pincers cup shaped? If so it could be a black mithrax. Which I suspect are very similar to the the green ones. Some people have no problems with green mithrax crabs while others report that they go rogue when they get big.

It will eat all meaty foods. Your LFS will not take it you can let it live in your sump most likely it will find enough to eat. That or flush it or feed it to something else. Trigger/Mantis

Catch it and kill it! The only good crab is a dead crab.

You could be right. It is hard to tell from those pictures. I thought it kind of looked like this guy here:
