$42 for a flame hawkfish is not a bad price. Sometime a small fish is better than a big fish because you can train it to eat frozen/dry food.

have a flame and speckled hawk, don't bother the coral banded at all, but team up eating snails.

My snails and shrimp have been fine with mine had him a year
