Default MMAX's 100gal

This tank's been about a year in the works. Had my 20gal for a little less than 2 years and it's been trouble free. This summer my wife and I had a new addition to the family, our first daughter and the rest of the summer and fall consisted of digging a 2000gal pond/waterfall in my backyard. Being December I thought it was time to get this project started again. The tank was built last January by a company who shall remain nameless. The workmanship was good but that was the only good thing about the experience (BTW it wasn't a Canreef sponsor who built it). Rimless 100 gallon constructed out of half inch glass 48" X 22" X 22", Eurobraced with an internal overflow. Two 2.5" drains and two 1.75" returns.

Built the stand, painted and laid down half inch styrofoam.

The sump is my old 55gal I used to use for FW, baffles were installed by Red Coral. I was originally planning to put the sump under the tank inside the stand but there was hardly any room for maintenance. I'm going to construct a sump/control room in the space under my stairs and plumb the tank through the wall.

Other parts consist of an Aqua-Medic skimmer and an Oceanrunner 3500 return pump. More pics to follow as I continue with build...

A package arrived from UPS yesterday. Ordered a Sunlight Supply 8 bulb Tek light from J & L. Came in 3 days, would have been here in 2 but there was a 1 day delay due to some crappy weather. Everything arrived in one piece but I'm missing one V-hanger. Hopefully they'll send me another one.

Went to Red Coral and discussed with Kevin my bulb set-up for what I'm planning on doing (softie / LPS, clams and possibly a few SPS).
His suggestion was...
Blue Wave
Fiji Purple
Coral Life 10,000K
New Generation 15,000K
New Generation 15,000K
Coral Life 10,000K
Fiji Purple
Blue Wave

Just set the fixture on top to see the light but I'm probably going to hang it if I can find some celing joists to drill into.

With Coralife dual strip PC

With T5s

I can see myself getting a 4 lamp Tek for this little tank.

Go to Alberta Aquatica under "Ponds". I documented the whole thing there. Did a lot of work on it but there's still a lot to do.

A few plumbing pictures. It's almost ready for water, I just need to pick up a RO/DI unit.

Thinking about raising my sump up. I'll build a 2 X 4 frame and bring it up 2.5"

One more hole through the wall and I'll almost have it done.
