Default cotton ball like creature in sump

Hi guys,

For about a week now, I have been noticing critters that look like mini cotton ball on the walls of my sump...they seem to grow larger in number as days go by...I've also spotted some in my main tank....

Can someone tell me what it is...and if it is a problem or not...

thanks

Marco

Does it have an opening near the top? Sounds like sponges. I had many of them when my tank was a few months old. Then, after a while, they all disappeared. Probably nothing to worry about.
