Sam,
They will eat hair algae. But they won't eat Bryopsis. Take my word for it. Bryopsis is either mildly toxic or just plain tastes bad. Nothing other than the lettuce sea slug eats bryopsis as far as I know. And once they eat it they will die due to lack of food.
