![]() If you must categorize it, HQI is a "magnetic" ballast. It runs any DE bulb and most mogul bulbs including, for example, the Radium 20K, Ushio 10K, Aquaconnect 14K and XM 10K bulbs. In fact, several European bulbs such as the Radium 20K are spec'd to run on a 250W HQI ballast.
