![]() this question has likely been asked previously but a quick search didnt yield anything. when our green bta was small the tentacles were squat and bulbous but now that it has grown the tentacles are much more elongated. we added a large rbta as well and it too has more elongated tentacles. does this happen as these anemones grow? i have seen btas in other peoples tanks where the tentacles are really thin and stringy, not the case with ours. our have fat tentacles, just not short and bulby.
they are well fed, mix of raw shrimp, squid and scallop every second day or so. they are in moderate flow and under 160 watts of t5 lighting. water parameters have been steady. any thoughts? gbta ![]() rbta ![]() |

![]() I was under the impression that you should only feed once every week to 2 weeks.
Maybe you are feeding too much? |

![]() yeah ive read mixed opinions on feeding. a few times a week seems to be the common recommendation and id say they get 3 feedings a week. entirely possible they are overfed but my impression with overfeeding was that they regurge foods they are unable to process.

![]() Actually there has been no real speculation made as to the cause of why BTA's lose their bubble tips.
Here is a really good website with a lot of information about them. http://www.karensroseanemones.com/

![]() I dont feed mine at all really...Mine seem to get enough food between my generous feedings and the clowns, who sometimes take them food....tentacles are short and bubbly.

![]() Really, they require some pretty intense light, so I would suspect that they get most of their sustenance from light. EDIT: Like any coral though, they will like to be fed. My open brain eats quite a bit (though I've cut back since my tank is overrun with 'pods right now).
