Question help to id white spot on purple tang

i have just put an purple tang into my system and he has developed a white spot on his side.the spot is about half the size of a dime, slightly raised .my cleaner shrimp cleaned it off yesterday which left a slight discoloration underneath and it seems to be back again today.the tag also suffers from labored breathing and not quite as active. If anyone could shed some light on this it would be great.i hope that i am just paranoid and that it is just some ick.

thanks

ich looks like a grain od salt, if it was dime sized its probably some kind of sore/wound or maybe an ulcer

Could also be Lymphocystis based on the description. Look it up and see if it looks similar. If it is; it's viral and not much you can do other than ensure good water quality and feeding etc., it's sort of like a wart, it will just go away on its own and is rarely fatal or anything although it can sometimes be contagious so sorta annoying that way but otherwise not a huge worry.
