![]() I am planning to move 155 gallon tank this Sunday and now after reading about tank moving, I don't think i am ready for this big job lol. I have friends to come and help carrying the tank but need to have a better preparation. Is there a place where I can rent all aquarium moving equipments like floor mats, tube ware, suction cups, etc...
It would be a little easier if the tank is empty but this tank is with live stocks (mainly fishes). Any plumping expert out there can help me what extra plumbing I should buy in case things go extremely wrong? Now i am scared to move this big tank, lol ________ LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH SPECIFICATIONS Last edited by Coleus; 04-30-2011 at 04:53 AM. |

![]() Its okay...Take a deep breath..
![]() We moved our 180 twice in a year....So basically what you need is LOTS of rubbermaids..and some heaters and air pumps..Try and save as much water as you can.Put some water and rock in rubbermaids..Just make it so you can carry it. Then do the same with the fish. Then we got some of the water jugs from Sobeys dumped the water out and put as much old water as we could in them..(you can take them back for the deposit you paid on them) Transport them to the house and get the heaters and airpumps going as your filling the new tank with water. Mine were okay in rubbermaids for a week as it took forever to fill up the tank when we got it to Red Deer anyways. Its actually failry smooth if you have those items. Just try not to take to much time moving them without the heaters and air pumps..The fater you get them settled with what they need then you can focus on the tank. And the tank will be easy to move if you have a few ppl to pick it up...We moved the 180 with 3 ppl at one point... ![]() Good luck ![]() |

![]() Should i move the sand too? I am not sure right now about the sand. I know that moving the sand will spike anominia and nitrate but if i put in new sand i have to wait for water to recycle and my fishes has no home

![]() Bow Valley Aquatics cuts glass, might take a week or so but its about 1/3 the cost of other shops like speedy glass and crystal glass who also will take a week to do the job.
