You guys are awesome!! I didn't think I would get so many answers. We were talking about a standard bulkhead set up in a traditional style with the flange to the wet side of the tank. His theory was that the UV from the halides breaks down the gasket, so it has to go on the dry side. I was like, "Um what about the threads leaking?", his reply "Oh I just silicone them."

Just ask him when was the last time his tank fell apart because the silicone holding the glass together disintigrated.
