I don't know about that, it sounded more like a gun shot sound effect then what my pistol shrimp sounds like. My pistol is noisy but it's more of a clicking/snapping sound. My pistol sort of sounds like my mantis when he's digging through rock, only louder.

I think the audio during the animation was added fro dramatic effect. The true sounds are at the beginning of the clip where you hear all the popping I'm sure most of us are familar with.
