As much as I HATE to do it. I think I am breaking down and buying a reflector. No canopy, so looks are important as well as the amount of light spillover. Also, I am kinda limeted with availible height over the tank. I was looking at these 2 reflectors as they are around 5" tall. Presently, using a U bent piece of Alum, about 5" tall, 6" above the water with a 175W 14K. Started with a Verticle mounted "Lamp shade" like pendant, with just a white painted inside. The U bend alum gives WAY more Shimmer. and I'm falling in love with that.

Question I have, Both reflectors are same price at JL. $169 Quick delivery is a must. Not willing to wait to order from USA. I go back to camp in just over 2 weeks. But, the Elite uses a hammertone reflector, where the 2 uses a smooth. WHat would the output effects be? OR, does anyone know of a reflector that would better suit my needs? Where would I get it from? Thx in advance

actually both reflectors now use the hammertone (which is really not a hammertone), all lm2 come with the new material, supposedly better for hotspots.

Ahh OK Thx. I think I may try the Elite then. It just looks neater, with the black corner pieces and such. The reflector will be visible.

On boxing day I thought of redoing my Frag System. Big Al's had 75G tanks on sale for just $98. My thinking was I had everything else I would need to complete the project. Wrong I then needed to build a simple stand $17 I then thought that new sand was in order (I bought Bulk to save) $78 I am now fighting Algea and have decided that the PC lighting system is just not cutting it. New T5 setup $450. Hi my name is Tom R and I am an addict. Last edited by Tom R; 04-26-2009 at 04:26 PM. |
