I would seriously oversize the overflows in the DT, when either of those surges kick in they will become siphons and dump very quickly a 2" siphon will be too much for a standard 1 1/2 drain even if you have two of them, unless there is a ton of room in the display to handle the new volume of water rushing in.

Sweet someone else who plays with surges
I noticed my carlson surge required a overhaul once I added salt to the mix - worth keeping in mind... If you want - I've got a 65g (36x18x24) sitting around the side of the house that has a cracked corner on the bottom - yours for the price of picking it up If free/repairs required is still enticing you...Cant wait to see how yours works
