Do you have EMT's in British Columbia? In varies in the US but in California one has to be a EMT for at least 1 year before applying for a paramedic program at a paramedic school.

Anyhow they do most transfer/non emergency calls so the paramedics can respond to actual emergencies and high priority calls.

I understand the system is different, but in some ways the same since many city's employ their own paramedics as part of the fire department since fire responds to pretty much all medical emergencies since they are all trained EMT's and some paramedics as well.

I am just curious is all.

I wrote a letter of support as well.
