I recently had to replace the impeller on my sedra 5000, but had it for 5 years. (mine has the needle wheel for skimmer).
I've heard that many other people have had to replace these impellers after relatively short lives because they swell with corrosion between the impeller magnet and the casing. They may have rectified the problem by now. My Mak 4 has been running for 4 1/2 years pushing water up 6 feet. Great pump for the price. 1200gph. around $220 i think
