Check out the video on mounting-pegging, you might find it more useful than "gluing" everything down right away

Very interesting video. But I am not very interested in taking my LR apart to drill the rock.

I wonder if one of those flexible drill extensions would work? Or could one make a hand powered drill using a drill bit and cross member? Sort of like a chuck key for an older style power drill.
