This is a massive subject but I will try and shorten the Redox story for you here.

Simple terms IF dosing Ozone you should be looking for a reading of between 420mV to 450mV I suggest never going over that value point.

IF not dosing ozone it is very hard to get a true reading beyond 400mV and 375mV being more the accurate attainable value.

Redox probes when dirty produce false high readings, and when you distrurb them from a resting state they will also crash in value taking a few days to bounce back in some cases.

A new redox probe will take about 2 weeks to start reading accurately as you have to wait for the ionic field to be built up on the platinum, after this period it is advised to brush the probe with tap water and then put back in the tank.

Older probes - every two weeks clean in the same way to make sure you are getting accurate readings, and calibrate every month.

Redox will change when you do water changes as you have disturbed the ionic balance of the tank, I advise cleaning the probe everytime you do a water change.
