![]() Hi,
I have been out of the hobby for a little while now and just getting back into it. I am looking for some sand to put in my tank. Where is the cheapest to buy sand nowadays? I used to have bucket loads, but I threw it all away a while ago ![]() Also, I plan to have a thin bed of sand, 3/4"-1". My tanks dimensions are 36"x 24" for the bottom. Does anyone know how many pounds of sand I will need? Thanks in advance!

![]() That works out to about 0.5 cu ft of space so a 40 lb bag should do the trick.
You can always add more if you decide to go DSB. I've always ordered my sand from J&L but you can check locally.

![]() I checked out big al's today and the price of sand wasn't too bad actually. Too bad they ran out of the sand I wanted!
Razz: Thanks for the offer! I am just unsure when I will be able to drive out there.
