![]() so my 15 gallon is finally ready to add the cuc and i don't know what i can add as far as sand sifters because this tank will be a nano reef with a small mantis in it. what do you guys figure i could use to sift the sand without it getting mantis'd. i was thinking a cucumber but i heard if they get killed everything dies. and i think sand sifter stars are always much to big for a 15 gal and same with a conch... now im outta ideas lol.

![]() thick shelled snails like turbos would be fine. as you found, cucumbers, conchs and sand sifting stars are unsuitable for small tanks with a mantis in them.
