I'm a different Mitch, Clinton.....

Welded steel, eh? It wouldn't take much of a difference to make the bottom glass break, given the short amount of time that the tank was set up. Styrofoam may have helped with any high spots.

Opps, soory just tring to get to the bottom so to speak of the matter. I really don't think there was any high spots as the plywood was finished and cover the whole stand and the tank sat flat on the wood.

I wish I could help more. But it's pretty hard without seeing the stand in person.
Good luck.
Maybe there's a warranty on the tank if you purchased it brand new.

Clinton that really bites man , I just setup a tank for a friend a few weeks back and I had a crack too, so I had to start with another tank. It wasn't that bad though, just learned the hard way how to: not over tighten a bulkhead

I hope you get another tank, that other one looked great
How did the tank crack by the way

keep us posted, Rich

Cheepreef.
How come you didn't run styrofoam under the tank?
Do you think that could have prevented this?
