Wow....a Christmas tree already!
The tank sounds great...I imagine the paint you might be looking for is Krylon Fusion. Not sure if it is water proof...whatever paint you end up using...watch out for it having anti-mold incredients which would be dangerous for your tank inhabitants. Best of luck
