Default leathers & sps?

Does anyone keep leathers in with their sps corals without running carbon?

I have a mixed reef without any issues. I run carbon now but didn't in the past.

I do...
I have only sps frags though and a couple HUGE leathers...
no ill effects yet, but I'm too new to the sps game to know for sure if things will stay this way.

Never had any great luck with mixing in my tank, even with carbon. Sps tank o'Death...It is loaded with softies that are doing great..all water parameters are good and have 2x250w mh and 4 65w pc's.
If you have a small tank with lots of softies, I would skip the Sps..Imo.
Too much chemical warfare...

No problems at all, about 70% mix of softies and lps,and a dozen good sized sps, everything is thriving.
