My anemone crab used to do that ! Does he still have his anemone/shell? You should get a pic in the symbiotic thread.

My anemone crab died during a molt, he had some difficulties for some reason. I tried to keep his anemone alive, but no go without the host...

Well sadly this poor guy that lost his shell died.

the anemone still attached to the epmty shell was found on the bottom of my tank, but within the day the other anemone crabs stole them and stuck in on their own shell.

I have noticed when I have bought large shells for them, I’ve seen them switch and also remove the old anemone and put it on their new shells. It’s very cool.

They did fight a lot with each other – and went CRAZY running around only the bottom of the tank, so rare would I see them up on the rocks.

I only have one left he seems much happy that he is alone, quite large too. I’ve had this guy now for over a year. (I started with four)
